Wedding Day Details

• The ceremony will start at 12:00 p.m., noon, in the Great Hall.
• If you are coming for the day, please arrive for 11.00 a.m. in time to get parked and get seated. Everyone must be seated in the Great Hall for 11.30 a.m. for the ceremony to start at 12:00 p.m., noon.
• The evening event starts at 7:00 p.m. in the Orangery. If you are coming for the evening event only, please arrive at 7:00 p.m. or after.
• There is plenty of parking available at Burghley House. You should park in the Stable Courtyard.
• Guests joining us for the day will be treated to a personal guided tour of Burghley House’s state rooms after the ceremony, before the wedding breakfast.
• The event will finish at 11.45 p.m. You should be prepared to leave the premises by 12:00 a.m. midnight.
• There is plenty of parking available at Burghley House. You should park in the Stable Courtyard.

Guests are welcome to leave their cars overnight in the Stable Courtyard but we do ask that they are collected by 11:00 A.M. the following morning. If guests are not able to collect their cars before 11:00 A.M., please park in the visitor car park where cars can also be left overnight and collected later the following day. Please note all vehicles are left at your own risk.

We are told that there are only two taxi companies in Stamford – Ace Cabs – 01780 767676 – and, Premier Cabs – 01780 757575. You are advised to book your taxi journeys in advance.

N.B.: The entrance to Burghley House is over a mile from Stamford and the driveway from the entrance of the House to the House itself is a quarter of a mile. There is a small footpath most of the way from Stamford to Burghley House, but it is on an unlit road where cars will be traveling at 60 m.p.h. – you are NOT advised to walk back to your hotel in Stamford in the dark!
